Ruud Verrijk

 

Ruud Verrijk has over 20 years of experience in the design and analysis of drug delivery systems. After his education as a pharmacist in Amsterdam and after obtaining a PhD in cardiovascular pharmacology he worked as a post-doc at the Netherlands Cancer Institute where he was responsible for the design and formulation of cytostatic compounds in microspheres, targeting and bio-analysis of cytotoxic precursor drugs. After a position at Solvay Pharmaceuticals in the department of Pharmaceutical Analysis he became head of the Analytical Chemistry Department of OctoPlus. Since 2001 he worked as Manager Research Projects in developing drug delivery systems of proteins, peptides and nucleic acids at OctoPlus Technologies. He has published on delivery systems, pharmaceutical analysis, drug formulation and pharmacology, both in the public domain and in patents. Currently, he is working at OctoPlus as Principal Scientist on injectable protein delivery systems.
